Foundation Portfolio version 1 by Brooke van de Water

Concept:

Plot Synopsis:
Olivia and Azrael are arguing in the car about their relationship issues and how Azrael is treating Olivia. Azrael starts to raise his voice, and Olivia gets frightened- retaliating by yelling and leaving the car in a hurry. She runs down the driveway, looking for a place to hide as Azrael threatened that “it is not over.” Olivia becomes more and more hurried in trying to escape, that when the symbolic “twig snap” is heard, she becomes more and more afraid for her life. Olivia then runs up into the forest, into the darkness, and Azrael finds her and attacks her.

The contrast in the costumes of “life and death” have a large symbolic influence on this film as it clearly shows the difference between Olivia and Azrael and the way in  which Azrael thinks himself to be more dominant and superior over olivia. The theme Alexis and I chose was “relationships” and the connotations of those such as male dominance and female submission, and created a film that represents this in a dramatic and near deadly way.
